Theo Albrecht, one of the two founders of Aldi (the other one is Karl Albrecht, his brother) has died last week.

Now his car is for sale:



It is an old Mercedes S-Class with modest equipment...an old cassette player radio, cheap seats and in general nothing special - apart from armor case with 6,5 cm thick windows and the B7 steel base plate - so it would survive a rocket attack. It also has oxygen masks so he could survice a possible lethal gas attack.

All doors have an explosive device and can be blasted at the touch of a button.

The tyres also withstand machine gun fire.
The car weights 3,5 tons and "drives like a lorry".

It is now for sale at a car dealer in Düsseldorf and parked on the parking space in front of one of the Aldi branches.

Karl Albrecht has avoided media since the 70s and his private life has been a mystery.

Karl and Theo Albrecht are on the Forbes list with about 20 billion Euros each.

Why would the founder of aldi be driving a merc with that much protection in the first place?

Because he is a potential victim as a multi billionaire - and he was also kidnapped in the past.
