What is the worst accident that you have had?If it involves hamsters up a back passage or sitting on a ketchup bottle I don't think we need to know! Laughing

That sounds painful, but depends on where the "wrost" is located?

What kind of worst? I guess one of my worst was also falling off a bike. I'd never ridden a pushbike before, so being me I peddled off the horizon, no one told me not to use the front brake going downhill 90 mph and out of control......gravel it was. Took the skin and flesh right off the side of my face and right hip/right arm. Nurse had to use tweezers (and I got a local anesthetic for THAT!!) to get the bits of road out.....nasty it was. And, I had a miscarriage the next day.
Never ridden a bicycle since thankyouverymuchly!

I supposed going over the head of a horse that fell then he stood up by way of standing on my shoulder blade and cracking it was kind of a worst accident too.....
....and doing a stupid stunt jump on concrete on rollerblades and chipping my coccyx wasn't exactly pleasant either.

Never really had any.

Oh..Apart from the 'needle' incident.

My stupid excuse for a sister left a sewing needle on the floor....and I stood on it. Went right through my foot and I had to have the needle removed at the hospital - I have the needle in a little jar now Laughing
Strangely enough..I can't stand the sight of needles now!

Another one...Falling down the stairs. Although this wasn't actually an accident, it was caused by somebody else.
Ended up with a 2 broken ribs and a broken wrist. Mad Confused

came off my bike and ripped my side open

passed out at work and cut my eyebrow open

had a nail go through my hand while playing football

erm...

oh yeah and i dislocated my knee playing rugby too, which was nice

To set the scene a bit...there's a big hill near where I live with a straight B road going down it, at the bottom of the hill is a slight bump which if driven over at 30-40mph gives you a wee thrill and butterflies in your stomach...my mate decided to see what would happen if you went over it at 80mph!

Needless to say he completely lost control of the car, I was a back seat passenger and only put my seatbelt on 3 minutes before the actual crash (he was driving like a lunatic, and yes we did ask him to slow down a bit). Luckily the road after the bump was straight but before he managed to gain control we hit a dyke and flipped the car on it's roof. I don't remember exactly what happened after that but know I crawled out of the back window, walked up the road a bit, looked round and seen smoke coming from the car (everyone was out by that point). Five minutes later the car was a ball of flames but thankfully no-one was seriously hurt. I came off the worst as the seatbelt cracked my breast plate...could you imagine what would have happened if I didn't have it on? Anyway, I had a month off work and suffered from nightmares for a year, I did start driving again a couple of months later but still to this day can't go over 70mph or trust anyone elses driving.

I also lost my whole cd collection in the crash as I had given him a shot of my cd wallet (about 70 cd's). Sad

Back when I was 18 I had car accident, I was the passenger in car that my mate was driving too quick around a corner on a rainy day. We went head on in to a huge tree, he got out with a large cut on his leg. Me on the other hand couldn't walk for 3 weeks and had a further 4 weeks of needing a stick. I also had a large cut on my arm and bruises/whiplash. Took me about 2 months to recover. Wearing a seat belt saved me from death....

I've also had several other car accidents as a passenger...

Now this is a subject that affects me every day.......
(This isn't about my accidents by the way)
There are very few things that can make me feel depressed or unhappy, but in my job I have to pick up cars from road accidents, and some of the stuff you get to see ain't very pretty....
They say you get used to it, but I don't think I ever will, it can make you feel so sad sometimes when you have to see first hand things like that, especially if kids were involved and stuff, most upsetting... Sad
Like Chet mentioned and Phoenix1978 said about his seatbelt, he may have cracked his breast plate, but I have SEEN what actually happens when you have an accident without a seat-belt, you don't stand a chance and it isn't at all nice....

Also, another thing I have noticed lately, for all you 4x4 drivers who think that you are safer in one, over the last 3 months almost EVERY vehicle I have been to on it's roof has been a 4x4, made me rethink about how safe they are......

Sorry, I have done it again, dragged another topic off in a different direction (sorry!)

I know what you mean about making you think, up until recently there there wasn't a day that went by that I didn't think about what happened to me. I still shudder when I have to drive past accidents on the motorway or when I see people driving like total nutters

I hear you there Chet, for five years or so not a day went by that I didn't think about what could have been and how lucky I was. I go to the crash site once a year and just reflect on that day...lifes a precious thing guys so look after yourself -x-

Don't know about the worst accident but the most embarrassing one has to be when my workplace moved to a new purpose built building, and I caught my breast in a filing cabinet drawer in the main reception office. That meant I was the first entry in the accident book......... Embarassed that everyone would see time and time again.

To be honest, I've had loads of accidents so I'd be able to fill this thread up if I had a better memory.

I could comment on the fact that you posted twice there, but since that means you used the word 'breast' twice, I'm not gonna bother......
