Tbh, the only thang to do the job for me has morphine in it (on prescription from the doctor, before anyone jumps on me!) but I know that most people find paracetamol will suffice in the main.

Well if we're going down that route I'd say the best I've used is anadin extra. Once it kicks in its the business. Take a 1.5 dose (3 tablets) and you can cut your own leg off without feelig it.

Ibuprofen to ease the inflamation and a couple of paracetamol should do the trick..ibuprofen 400mg can be taken three times a day and a 1g paracetamol four times a day..

I've always used oil of cloves for toothache but for severe toothache I think all medication is a challenge.
I hope your teeth come through ok, I had mine erupting for years and was relieved to see the back of them. 1st one I had the dentist remove, but opted for hospital for the next (also it didn't cost me for the hospital extraction)I gave the surgeon the option of taking them all out if he thought it necessary... and so the last 3 were taken, and life improved there on.
Good luck hun ! Hope you feel better.

Get your self a bottle of oil of cloves. Get a cotton bud and dab a bit of the oil of cloves onto your gum. Works straight away and numbs the pain.

I've heard Morphine is good or Ether.

Co-Codamol is my best friend. Laughing Make sure it's the 30/500mg, though.

I must be one very lucky person - I didn't even KNOW all of my wisdom teeth were (or had..3 of them had already come through) coming through. No problems at all.

I have a wisdom tooth coming through at the moment too, this is my 4th and hopefully last one. But people have been known to have 2 lots. I would recommend codeine as a pain killer (it can make you "egg bound" though!Laughing) But before trying that, try sucking and chewing on ice cubes.Chewing more on that side (it will hurt a bit) helps the tooth come through quicker and with less pain later on. That's why babies are given teething rings (some of those have ice in). Mine's just broken the surface and about a week on It has eased and I barely notice it now. Good luck.x
