Hi,

Just got into this 'online dating' thing and it seems I'm just at useless at being a ladies man virtually as I am in reality. What works with profiles? How do you keep a conversation going on that chat thing? It seems to just boil down to 'Hey, how are you?', 'I am fine, you?' 'Not bad'.... and thats it, lol.

Who's managed to be successful?

well considering ur luckier than me, i wouldnt complain

I guess that means that the really rich secret agents have to lie, cuz if they told the truth no one would believe them? (or 007 would have to kill them....).

I was very lucky. Met a really wonderful man and we dated for over a year. It didn't work out, but we're really good friends, so I'm happy. It's important not to take it too seriously and just see it as one possible option to meeet new people.

as far as this online dating thing goes, it's practice and trying too figure out what works best. a random selection of ppl on a dating site is a slice of society. think bell curve. what works best works for the majority. If its not working your idea of what/how it ought to work is different from the reality of it.

Since no one gets feedback, If you're not a natural, the only other way is to get in the mind of the average female, scary I know lol.

Take females who are generally considered hot, there's really not that many of them who think of themselves in the same way. If you refer to it as likely many other guys will, it creates an instant disparity. They're hardly likely thinking "here's a guy that understands me". Whereas most women will accept being called "pretty". Even if they do think of themselves as exceptional, if they're remotely intelligent, and not insecure, calling them hot will just lump you together with all the other guys who they perceive as being uninterested in who they are.
"sexy" works in a similar way.
