Hi ppl. Im steven from Mumbai, India. I'm a pr consultant here and I work at Nariman point two building away from the oberio trident towers. On wed night there was a terrorist strike on that building. It was about 10 pm and I was leaving the office. I was in a taxi that time and I was passing below the building. I saw the terrorist shooting inside the bldg. They entered, killed the punjabi guard on the spot. Then shot whom ever the saw, i could hear the A56 guns. The most disturbing part was that these guys shot ppl and threw them of the first floor of the bldg. I told the driver to speed off. It was really scary. Ive not been able to get out of my house for the past 3 days. can someone please help me cope with this.

That must have been frightening. Have you been told not to leave your house?

Hi Steven, I can imagine that must be difficult to cope with.
Hopefully, from what I have read here, things should start settling down again soon for you.
Its tough to know what to say under the circumstance - I've been in a similar situation in the past abroad - it is scary and shocking to see someone being killed and hard to cope with but I guess just be glad it is not you who took the brunt of it, and if you are a religious man at all pray for those that lost their lives and find inner strength to cope.
Hope that helps.

I have also been stuck in the middle of terrorist attacks and a civil war in Asia. Best advice is just do what ever the local authorities advise you to do. Also I know this may be hard but when they say its safe you've just got to get on with it and not think about it. If you spend the rest of your life worrying about it then it could ruin you.

choochi hi, there was a curfew. the authorities had told us to stay indoors. what worries me is that I have done so many press conferences in the banquet halls of the Trident hotel. I cnat ever imagine going there again.

I cant belive the that 10 men killed 200 ppl and injured 300 others, they just shot ppl. How can anyone be so cold?? There was one terrorist who was caught. hes just 21 yrs old and he has no remorse for what he has done. what is happening to this world.

These people seemed to have been working from a military mindset, carrying out a raid.
Note that they arrived on small powered boats and made their way towards their targets in an apparently organised manner. Very commando-like.
They probably had stopped thinking as individuals and started thinking like soldiers.
It is horrible but there are lot of motivations to do all kind of unthinkable things out there. In the UK someone recently conducted a bombing campaign because he objected to a DNA database.

Once I was travelling on a train in India in 2006. I was on a budget so I always went for 2nd class sleeper, that's where the whole carriage is open and everyone sleeps together.
Just after we got on the train a kid came down handing out leaflets printed in Hindi. At first I didn't take much notice but after a couple of hours I decided to ask one of the people near me what it was about. They said it was anti-American/English saying that we shouldn't be allowed in their country and that we should be treated with hostility. That was an over night trip and I didn't even dare close my eyes the whole journey.
I didn't let it spoil the rest of my trip though.

hey guys, here are some interesting links. These are links on how the Pakistan media reported these happening.

Please share ur thoughts on this. I plan to make copies and send these to the indian media here. being in pr means that i know of lot of media personal. the pak media claims that this was a drama staged by india. so we could have our own 9/11 incident. please see the entire series of clips.
I went to work today. it was so strange, felt sick. ppl had not witnessed what i had seen. it looked like no one was affected at all. i left early from office at 4.00 pm. I couldnt digest the fact that ppl just carried on as if nothing had happned. I wonder when would we take a stand on terrorism. Im will be going to the taj on 3rd dec to light candles in memory of those who have fallen. [/img]

hey hi u4ric, may i know which ppart of india were u travelling to. there are some places in india that are so unsafe. Back in 1999 my father had travelled to Kolkata. Its a beautiful city but he in the night its pretty unsafe. 2 men stole my fathers cash and credit cards by holding a knife to his neck. never travel to bihar thats even worse. the cops there are scared of the ppl as most of them roam around with daggers and home made relvovers. crazzy stuff happens here. that ways Mum was considered pretty safe till before this terrorist attack. sux man.

I travelled all over India for 5 weeks, I can't remember exactly what train journey I was on at the time. I can tell you I got stuck in the middle of the suicide bombings in Varanasi in 2006 though.
The gun and knife crime you talk about happens all over mate. Kids are shooting each other all the time in the streets where I live. I would say only half actually make it to the national or international media.
