so, i like this girl, and i thought she liked me, we met at a work place, where we both no longer work, i got her number on last day of work.

that was around 5 months ago.

in this time, i text her the first day i got her number, started talking etc, seemed to be going well.

a few days later i pop the question do u wanna go see a movie next friday, she said i will let u know if i can closer to the day, and she never did, so i text her back asking what was up, and she didnt really answer the question properly, we didnt text each other for around 1 and a half months, then out of nowhere she starts texting me again, asking how i am etc, so i just come out with asking her what she thought of me and she said "just friends". i text back saying ok Fair enough.

now i didnt send her a message, nore did she me, for around 2 months, then randomly (on valentines day) i get a messgae from her saying happy valentines day, i text back saying same etc. then she starts texting me asking how ive been, the strange thing is she put an X at the end of every message, which she has never done in the past.

anyway, she sent me a text saying,"ok i cant text no more, my friend just came over,do you want to meet up 1 day? x" so i replied with yea sure, just tell me when u are free and we will sort sumthing. trying to not look overly eager.

now my problem is, is she messing me about? does she like me? why does she keep texting me every few months, and why did she seem not keen at all to go to the cinema with me only a few months ago? and now i wasnt even going to try, she asks if i want to meet her one day, what is up with that? maybe she was just feeling loney on valentines day, and thought she would text me, also if she doesnt text me back saying when she is free, should i text her in a few days/week and see if she is free?

I would say she just wants to be your friend. i may be wrong about that, but she already told you she likes you as a friend, so she is just being an affectionate friend by adding an x at the end of msg's (alot of women do that) and hence she is just trying to stay in touch with you with random texts every couple of months.

I would say to you, go out with her to the invite she has offered you, but just be a friend, and you never know, something may develop but if it doesn't you will still have a good friend in her.

Do not text her. If she is that interested then she will contact you. I quite honestly think that she has had her eye on someone else, they aint been interested so shes looking for a bit of a confidence boost to herself by texting you cos she knows you will go running so dont do it

one other thing, she is a bit younger then me too, i kinda got the impression she thought i was a little old for her, she is 17, i am 21

oh and by kinda got the impression, what i really mean is she actually said it, when one of my friends hintedi liked her.but then the next day she said "im sorry about yesterday" and when i asked what happend yesterday, she wuddnt tell me lol

I know sod all about women, but I'd guess that you're being held on the back-burner, in case of emergencies.

Sounds like she has other interests on the go, but wants you as an insurance policy.

It's up to you whether you put up with that or not, isn't it?
