Well if boxoftears isn't happy in herself, she won't be able to treat people how she would want to, she will be acting out to how she feels inside, don't judge her by that. Boxoftears will not be in a mindset to worry about other peoples feelings to much right now, let alone be what people want her to be.

The only good thing in feeling so low - is that you cannot feel lower, so it is only uphill from there. Boxoftears, you should take time out to enjoy the smallest things you personally enjoy, whether it is doing something trivial like dancing, reading, listening to your fav bands. If you feel you can't snap yourself out of your mood or depression, then it is always good to talk to someone, doesn't resolve how you feel immediately, but its a step in the direction. If you feel to seek professional advice, go for it, nothing else can hurt you and you wouldn't care if it could, you can be at your strongest point right now! Go forward, get the happiness going, and enjoy what's waiting for you around the corner in life.

You are only 16 boxoftears, you got so much coming to you that you will love, anyone knows that, just you can't see it right now - Good luck

If you have only been feeling very up and down for the past month or so then it MIGHT be a medical reason. Perhaps some medication could help. Im not really sure,

I know manic depressives go from extremely depressed (suicidal) to europhoric within minutes and they are very unpredictable, however generally people have this disorder their whole lives. Im sure its possible that it could develop, but it is an inbalance in the brain. Perhaps just go to a doctor and describe your symptoms and see what he thinks. chances are he will prescribe you something. If it doesn't work then try something else/try a diff doctor or seek other options.
