When you (as in you ladies) put on your profile:

Likes: Ask me
Dislikes: Ask me

Why when we ask you purely out of interest, with no sexual reference or anything in the message, do you not reply. I have asked a couple of lasses about their likes and dislikes, just out of interest, and none have replied. Why bother putting it if you are not going to reply when asked?

The guys do it too Slick. It's annoying when you get a post from a guy who has nothing there at all, interests are very little and even the job is 'ask me' or 'a secret'. Good god, what's a girl to go on? I ignore guys like that now.

Well red i agree that some one who can't be bothered to take the time to fill in their profile isn't worth wasting time on! The underlying question is "What makes a good profile stand out?" Or could it be said that we are a lot more shallow than we care to admit? That we purely go for the photos? But then experience is teaching me that it is not worth the wasted time in messaging people because a reply is a rare thing!

Just the fact that someone has bothered to fill it all in makes a difference. If a guys good looking but has written nothing about himself, i don't bother. I want someone I can converse with. I don't like pics of guys who feel the need to show everything off either.

My apologies to Bernard. He did once post me and I ignored him because he's bare-chested! That's one of the good things about the forums. I now know that Bernard is a sweet guy and I shouldn't have ignored him, but first impressions count for so much in places like these.

I ignore the young, trim ones too if they feel the need to show flesh to get attention.

Looks do play a part, but I have been known to answer guys without a pic if the profile has been interesting and their opening message has made me either smile or think

I know what you mean Red! I tend to have a set criteria as well! shallow well i hold my hand up and confess to that! I've noticed that a lot of the guys have jacked it in and quit!! But what the hell i automatically come to the forums now and rarely bother with the dating site!

I dont have a pic on my profile for a reason.. The last time I got really weird messages from a guy. I blocked him but he just registered a new account and started all over again but I have noticed a change this time round. I havent got half the mails I used to get and I think its because of no pic! Sometimes no matter how interesting you are people dont wanna talk to people if they dont know what they look like. Once bitten twice shy and all that!!!
