When you get it, can I come pose for you?

BTW: I used to sell digital cameras and I would say avoid the E500

Tonight i had a phone call to my home phone. When i answered it was a recorded message stating that it was BT and that it wasnt a sales call. They went on to say that they needed to speak to me regarding my account (recorded message still) and in order to do that i should press one on my phone keypad. I put the phone down because i never had this happen before and it sounded like a scam to me.

Does anybody know if that was a known scam or was it a genuine BT call? Surely if BT want to talk to me they could get a human being to do it? Confused

What you describe is *exactly* a hoax email that was doing the rounds about a year ago. Now, I'm not suggesting in any shape or form that you are pulling our legs but I am seriously wondering if someone somewhere has actually turned this hoax/urban myth into reality? Good job you hung up!

i used to work for bt, in faults and i dont ever recall them sending those messages.
if they want to get hold of you, they will call whatever number you have down as contact and always leave a message on your answerphone

Oh dear i see it says here you are both in the london area - thats worrying, maybe you should call bt in the morning and tell them about this? It does sound worryingly like a new scammer that hasn't made the headlines yet.

Right heres one for you people...........

Have any of you ever done shared ownership of a house with someone of the opposite love where it is completely platonic?? I'm looking to move and can't really afford anywhere decent enough of my own so im looking into the possibility of shared ownership with a friend. Bearing in mind I will be putting down a fair whack of money (which would be written into the legal contract that i would get back if the time comes to sell) and all otherlegal stuff would be covered. Have any of you done it or woulddo it?? Any advice welcome and needed

What about owning a house with them Vi??...i.e half the mortgage etc. Would you go for that type ofcommitment with a friend? Its my mates brother and we get on okay...not best of friends or anything but I think i would find it easier to share with a bloke.

As long as everything is covered in the documentation then its fine. You might find that one of you will buy the other one out at one stage. The one buying out will go for the highest market value the other will go for the lowest. Make sure you discuss this.

And as regards living with each other as long as you both have a 'state the obvious' rule and 'whatever is on your mind spit it out sooner rather than later' rule then you're fine.

If you are thinking of it as an investment then its grand.

Some sound advice there Costa........Thanks. It is a way for me to get up the property ladder and him to get on it. I would be putting down all the deposit on it (approx 30,000) but would make sure that was written in that that comes back to me with possibly a percentage over and above that then anything else gets split down the middle. Im beginning to think its maybe certainly something worth thinking about and talking over with a lawyer.
