I am probably moving to Scotland from the Us this coming January. I am very excited but very nervous at the same time. I am wanted to find some new friends before i get out there but I'm not exactly sure how to do that. Any advice would be greatly appreciated thanks.

I assume your moving to a city, as opposed to one of the rural areas which may be more difficult Obviously, after you found your feet, youi'll find scotland as exceptionally friendly as I have

I study in Striling & usually stay there or Glasgow, becasue i live in London, & found it very friendly talking to, for example, the taxi drivers
My school frind move their with his young family just north of Edinburgh & found the only difficult is the weather tends to be colder than what he's used to, being based in London - his wife is hal;f scottish

I know Aberdeen, with a large influx of eastern europeans and amazing architecture, the shooping area is typical of a small city - see the film Breaking The Waves ; and yes it get's VERY windy becasue of the North Sea
Laslty for shared interssts... look into the scotland groups here, or gumtree.com...i'm sure you'll be fine!
