OK, I'll probably sound like a bitch because of this but oh well...
About 6 weeks ago I was at a party with some mates from Chorley. One of their mates called and they asked me, as a joke, to talk to him. He was feeling a bit down and they wanted to cheer him up. I pretended I'd seen him around on the few occasions I'd been to Chorley to see my mates and found him attractive and that next time I was there we'd all go out (not planning in going there for ages.) Anyway, I'd forgotton all about it unti today when I got a text from this guy saying my mate had given him my number and when was I coming to see him. I'm not at all interested and aam stuck for how to tell him without saying the conversation we had was just for a joke.
Help!!

Maybe a little white lie? E.g. Tell him you have a new bf, who is the jealous type.

That's not very nice, I personally would rather be told if a girl wasn't interested, than check my e-mail every day hoping for a reply that will never come.
If he's sent you e-mails it's only fair that you reply to them.

I'm kinda divided on this. You ignored a problem, and it went away. But Ed's right - ignoring him was a fairly harsh way to let someone down.

I always find that honesty is the best policy no matter what the circumstances are at the time! Its saves a lot of hassle and gains respect!

OK so it was a bit harsh. But this guy never met me and we spoke once on the phone for about 3 minutes. I'm sure he's not sat at home with a broken heart!
