most insomniacs suffer from having troubles they need to sort out...something troubling them...so getting to the root of the problem might be the answer..

Hello sleapy one.

I have got great news for you. Since the war ended and I returned to civilian life with a head full of nightmares you could never even begin to understand I have had soooooooo little sleep my doctors at one stage sedated me for 72 hours. This was because my vital signs were giong haywire. NO JOKES I AM SERIOUS.
I had not slept for 9 days that time. To cut a long story short all the suggestions being given here are not going to help you. I was on all the medications available. Try 10mg or rohipnal !!!!!!!!! I was put on valium and the morphene derivative drugs. I had drugs administered intraveniously etc but it only helps so far.

Then one day my sister told m,e about a natural drug that had been talked about on the beeeeeeeeeb , thasts bbc to the rest of you. After having the above mentioned drugs for nearlky nine years with the serious health side affects I was soooo sceptsssssdfghjkjkl whatever
I simply thought no way but I tried it.
First three days nothing one or two hours sleep then on the fouth night , eight hours of peacefull sleep for the first time in nearly a decade I was not fighting black communist terrorists all night in the bush of angola but counting smiling peacefull sheep in my native home of soputh wales, actually Caldicot.

So what is it? It is called Melotonin and it is a natural product witrh almost no side affects.
Go get it and you will be fine.
Take care and I will be thinking of you.
PS: My doctors warned methast there is only two outcomes with cronuic insomniacs. Either you go to sleep or you kill yourself.
This is no joke - I am tough, educated, above average income but still my mind played tricks on me when I was cronically sleep deprived.
So take care of yourself and sort this problem out before its too late.

This is exactly why I have had lots of sleeping problems. Note how i'm mainly on until about 1 or 2 am? That's after I've pretty much 'sorted' my troubles.

The milk thing is an old wives tales aas far as i know. If anything there is a trace of a chemical stimulant in cows milk...

If you just lie awake thinking about various things, maybe you could try writing whatever you are thinking about down in a notebook, That way in theory you will know you don't need to remember it and you brain might become less busy.

Something that sometimes helps is lying in a different position, diagonally or the other way round to usual.

Masterbation works for me, maybe you are finishing yourself off too quickly?
