My problem i believe is said in the post, i have a tendancy to attempt to be etertaining sometimes, which either works or falls flat on its face. Worse still, it kinda leaves me labled with the weirdo bloke or really worse the funny friend type thing. It all stems from a hatred of silence, dunno why, akward silence is best avoided but some silence is golden. aint gonna happen coz i waffle.

i get like that when i am nervous scottie it no big deal i hate awkward silences too, i reckon when i find 'the one' it wont happen as much hopefully?

Comfortable silences are fine, and they are comfortable when youre with particular ppl. For example I can sit there with my best mate and not say anything to him for 20 mins (for example) theres no awkawrdness at all.
