How long on average would anyone suppose it takes to get far in a online relationship on most sites?

I went on fling and up to a point that showed some promise but then eveything just slowed down to a crunch.
Then I tried meetlocals but I never got far with anyone, nobody replied after one or two messages.

Both these sites cost a bone too, this site mind is free but I can't keep contact up with anyone after awhile, everyone stops replying Sad

Hi there! Well you've not been on here for long and I don't think there can be an average time for what you might consider a success, however, if you find there's a pattern with the way people treat you, may be you need to think about changing something that you're doing or not doing.
I know it might be your intention to complete your profile, but if it's not and you're serious about finding somebody, then you need to really use the space to both sell yourself AND describe the kind of person you're looking for.
I had a quick peep at your profile, and suggest that you have a few pics with at least one with a smile.
Although being honest is a good thing, I'm not so sure many people would be attracted to meet somebody who mentions that they like to be bone idle and dislike having responsibilities.
Posting on the forums here is usually a good start too. There are some threads that give some good advice and discussion about profiles so take a look.

Personally, I've given up on the net other then just chatting. Too fickle and shallow. I can do much better in real life.

The only good thing about net dating at my age is you get access to people, without having to go out. But then that’s no good if they dont want to meet. Especially local people.

Its not easy getting the motivation to go out at my age , and you dont have the options of younger people. But thats what I'm going to have to do. Luckily I have a lot of single mates.
