I have a date tonight, with my friends cousin. He has been following me round like a lost puppy for the last 2 years, and I finally agreed to go out with him. We're going for a quiet drink in a bar I know.

Thing is, I haven't had a real 'first date' in 2 years.

Any tips/information?
What should I wear? - I mean like flirty/cute/sexy/whatever.
Any good conversation starters? I never know what to say at first - I'm quite shy.

I'll be grateful for any help on this one

Ok, that post didn't work. What I mean to say is I drink too much to overcome my shyness then usually end up making a prat of myself.

I suggest you don't do that

maybe you cant decide cos you are nnot clear on what you want from him - do you fancy him , or are not sure ?

Maybe best you try stuff on, and see what makes you feel best ? I know my female friends do that, while having a glass of wine - but then that leads to the problem someone else mentioned - you just get pissed then it doesnt matter ...

lol - good luck - enjoy !

He's a good looking guy, but not normally what I go for...he's more of a pretty boy than the usual rugged type guys that I like. Just considering his looks? I do fancy him. That doesn't mean i'll still fancy him by the end of the night, though. A bad personality puts me off a guy!

I have tried most of my stuff on. Only two things I like so far...Red top, but it's kind of low cut(And I don't want to come across as a tart) and then a black top..which is pretty boring.

A nice black top, thats nott too low cut, would work nice, black isnt boring, but is quite sexy, wihtout being too obvious, such as your low cut redone!!

I would go for the one you like - and if it were me you were meeting, would want you to wear the low cut one

Apart from the obvious reason (lol) surely these days women can wear revealing clothing without being seen by men as "asking for it" ?

The other option is something with buttons - you can adjust the look as the mood takes you throughout the evening

Have fun - whatever you wear lol

He's probably not going to be too bothered what you where...he's there for you, not your clothes. So...go in what makes YOU feel comfortable/sexy/flirty...whatever you want to feel...and just have fun!!

My only piece of advice, which is probably a bit late?

It's probably best this isn't the kind of guy you usually go for. You seem to hate all the guys you normally go for, so try something new!

You could soften the black with appropriate jewelry (equally you could make the red less revealing by using eye catching jewelry at the throat)

Maybe they need shopping expeditions - if they do then you could look for a new top.

Most of all though, be comfortable in what you are wearing
