The other night I was skating in skatepark (indoor) but it was raining outside so moisture got in the park and made the ground slippy so I slipped and crashed into a ramp really hard (and I meen hard) bust my lip a bit and got a nasty black eye, so should I put off meeting people for awhile or (in your opinion) wouldn't mind going out with someone with the black eye?

(Just so people don't ask YES it HURT like HELL) Crying or Very sad

It depends as to whether you want to tell the story behind the black eye or not. This is because you can be assured of one question: "How did you get that black eye?"

If you're a good enough teller of tales you should be able to entertain someone with a well-told story and I personally would use the opportunity to demonstrate both a sense of adventure and humility.

The bad news is that you might scare some women off because they might think you got your injuries from a fight. The good news is that from a woman's reaction you'll be able to tell a lot about her.

Shouldn't be a problem as long as you are honest about it.

It will be a good test of the lady in questions values. If she is put off by the black eye after you have explained yourself then she would appear to be shallow and if that's what you want that is fine, but if it's not then you may have made a lucky escape.

I don't think it ought to matter, but maybe its a good idea to tell the person you're meeting about it first as it might be a shock if it s that bad.

I blacked my eye a while back having tripped over and caught my eye on the corner of something. I did feel people were looking at me as if they'd thought I was in a 'domestic' but the bruising got worse before it got better and took 2 months to go, + a scar.
Fortunately , being an artist, I was able to match the changing colours of the bruising with eye make- each day as somehow the bruising was mainly on my eye lid. I went to a wedding with loads of doctors and not one of them realised that I'd only put make-up on one eye.

You will have to push for the sympathy vote with the eye then.

The truth is generally the best option and you should be respected for that. Alternatively you could go for an overblown yarn about saving an old lady from muggers.

Don't lose the skates if they're keeping you together, everyone needs some kind of self expression to maintain balance.

Whilst at work, you could also sleep and nobody would know.
