Ha ha, I use to, But used Numark, which are great but worked my way up too vestex, I`d say if you keep your eye on vestex mixers might be better off in the long run, they last forever

Hmmm...I'll keep that in mind.
Are Technics mixers as solid as the 1200/1210's?

..if your going to get any mixer go for a allen & heath as they are top quality, the xone:92 is fantastic. If you managed to find one going for a resonable price, snap it up sharpish. if not you might need a loan!

some people say that X is the best and some people prefer Y. Your best bet is to go to a local dealer and have a go on each then make up your own mind.

Ive never heard of citronic but £30 not bad for a mixer, especially if your just getting into it. If it becomes a bigger hobby then look to invest in a better mixer at a later date.

Although to get the new tunes , they still seem to put out on vinyl first, which is so bloody annoying..

I use traktor v 3.0 on the pc to do mixes, when I play out I use a laptop (with traktor 3 installed) linked up to my external harddrive, so much easier than lumping boxes of vinyl about! I use cd's on the odd ocassion bit you can never match having 30+ gigs of music at your disposal. I would like to get ableton live 5 & a the new allen & heath xone 3D but can't afford it at the mo.(slips into dream mode drool ) I got a copy of Acid pro 4.0 from a lad at work which is a good tool for editing & such like, easy interface to use as well.

I have traktor program myself. bloody excellent program, although i must admit i have only got so far as mucking about on it..still lots to learn..lol also, do you need two sound cards to use headphones. ie cueing up next track? i have got lots of other programs for pc..acid pro, cool edit pro,cubase...as wanted to get mixing like yourself via pc, but just cant find the time to learn programs properly..no excuse i know..
laughed when you mention allen and heath mixer...i got an e-mail telling me about it..got all excited, excately want i wanted .clicked link to get to the website to find price...lol..holy shit..

Very Happy tell me about it! (gulp) lol...yeah you need multi-channel soundcard to use headphones etc, usually external box with inputs/outputs.On traktor go to the preferences & assign a channel for headphones & one for the mix playing out. I've been recommended echo indigo soundcard which just plugs into your cardbus just for basic mixing, if your using a recent dell pc or laptop don't buy this as they have expresscard slots & apparently very little hardware is available for these models. try www.echoaudio.com. also on google-video just type in allen & heath in the search, there's a demo of the xone 3D on there.
